“Life in the Shadows.”
I didn’t have quite as much time for photography today as I had yesterday and I will have even less time tomorrow, but I will worry about that tomorrow! I did manage to shoot a total of 75 images today (although I shot some scenes quite extensively). I made images both indoors at home, some at the coast during a midday walk and again some this afternoon during a walk down the street to a little local creek which is where today’s image is from.

I chose this little shadow on a textured tree trunk as today’s image because I liked the idea of combining two elements in nature into one image (i.e. the shadow of the plant and the tree itself). Again I have opted for a black and white interpretation.
I enjoy being more visually alert since taking on this personal photo challenge and hope I can keep it up throughout the month. I would be pleased to hear any constructive feedback you may have on the images – good or bad.

Been swamped this week – leaving for short photo jaunt tomorrow morning, but got out the Lumix 18x and took at least 1 photo a day since Aug. 1. No time to figure out how to upload them now, but thanks for making me get my creative juices going every day! I’ve just been grabbing things around my house to photograph b’cause of time restraints, but I’m having fun. Great idea Thomas!

BTW, I’m really enjoying your Aug. images especially at the gardens the other day – *my* kind of photography! I can’t grow anything at all, but love to photograph others’ blooms.
Loved the shadow on the cracked mud. When I first got home after my 1st workshop w/Ruth Bernhard, I saw shadows and patterns everywhere I looked around my home, that I’d never noticed before. I love getting inspired by other photographers.

Hi Carol, great to hear you have been able to join me in this challenge and make your own compact snaps in August so far. I know exactly what you mean about time! The week-end went OK for me, but since the work week started it has been a lot more challenging.
Thanks also for your kind comments on my images. I appreciate it.
