In June 2010 I decided to throw myself a photographic challenge; make photographs inside my home, every day for 30 days while trying to forget about the names or uses of everyday things and look at them simply for their visual aesthetic.
It’s now been 12 days since I finished my At Home project and I have had some time to live with the images.
The 30 days generated just under 1,000 images (some of which were small variations on the same subject) and I posted a daily image from the project here on the Photography 24/7 blog throughout June.

I have now edited the 30 images from June down to a more narrow selection of 12 photographs which I have also made available for sale as limited edition prints on my personal website www.folkeandersen.com.
Here is the final edit that I decided on:

Shadow of a Galaxy

zigzag

Retro Vue

Hidden Geometry

The Inscription

Artful Play

Pattern of Individuality

Hairline Crack

Splash

Beyond Beautiful

DNA

zigzag Reprise
In addition to the above images there were two other images from the project that I really liked; The Eye of the Glass and Light Sculpture.
Both of these images, however, turned into small mini series on their own and these two mini series can also be seen on my personal website www.folkeandersen.com.
You can also view my “At Home” series and the final edit in my flickr stream.
I’d love to hear your feedback – positive or negative – so don’t hesitate to leave me a comment here or over on flickr.

I’ve really enjoyed this series you’ve photographed.
Sometimes I run out of inspiration for subjects, and it has reminded how everything has beauty if you loom at it the right way.
Let’s see some more!

Hi Mike, thanks for the kind words. I know what you meant.
The project was of course first and foremost to inspire myself and keep my vision in training, but in sharing the project here on the blog it’s of course an added bonus if anyone else can take something away from it as well in terms of inspiration or otherwise.
Cheers,
Thomas
