“Strands of Hair”

In the last few days I have really come to appreciate that being creative is very much a matter of opening yourself up and be ready for new experiences, new subjects and new situations.

I changed one of the spotlights in our kitchen today. It was one of those little things which I had postponed for a few days, but today I said to myself: “well, let’s just see if any subjects show themselves in the process of changing this light”.

Sure enough I spotted the texture on our step ladder and made a few photographs of this texture. Though the ladder images didn’t make it as today’s image, it was still part of the creative process, part of opening up my mind to see new subjects around the home here on day 26.

Instead I chose the above image for today. Of all places I spotted this one in the shower!

It’s simply part of the design on a shampoo bottle. I really liked the gentle curves of these “Strands of Hair” and decided to photograph them… after the shower!

I like it! I can imagine some strands of hair waiving in the air. Simple yet powerful.
