“A Scratched Heart”

After pulling an ‘all-nighter’ thanks to the FIFA World Cup I was not in the best of places for creative photographs today. I can’t remember last time a skipped on a good night’s sleep.

In fact I was all over the place. I photographed a whole bunch of different subjects. It felt a littlle bit like the search for the needle in the haystack.

However pointing your lens at any subject you see initially can be a good way to get started, a bit like a warm up before a sports match.

This is one of the sides of box number eight in a series of 10 stackable cardboard boxes my daughter likes to play with. There really isn’t anything special about this image. It’s very straight forward and two-dimensional, but I like the light scratches in the middle of the heart. They’re like a reflection of real life.
