If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere you’re in middle of autumn (or fall if you’re in North America) and it’s time to get out and make some photographs.
The pursuit of the colours of autumn is one of the most thrilling things you can do within the genre of outdoor ad nature photography. There are several good reasons for this:
- You’re out under the open sky in one of the finest seasons of the year.
- The air is often crisp and clear and the light is just beautiful, so even if you don’t come home with a masterpiece the fresh air will have cleared your mind.
- You have one of the year’s most beautiful colour palettes available to you to light-paint with.
- The shifting combinations of color and weather offers very rich picture opportunities.
To help get your creative juices flowing I have compiled a list of 15 fine flickr examples of creative autumn photographs which I hope you will enjoy:
I hope you enjoyed this flickr autumn inspiration series of images.
If you want even more inspiration I’d encourage you to visit some of the talented photographers who have created the above images. Clicking their images will take you took their flickr account where you can view more of each photographer’s work.
Until next post, keep warm if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, and try not to think too much about those of us who will be sipping cold white wine on the balcony in shorts and t-shirt.

There are some great photos there.
While the trees are yellow, brown and red here, with many losing their leaves, I drove up to Killiecrankie (Scotland) which is about 2 hours north of me last weekend, and it was mostly green. I was surprised at the difference such a short distance away.
My son had his first experience kicking piles of leaves around in the park, last week. He had a great time

Alex, how did I miss that?! Ahh you didn’t tag it with ‘autumn’
It’s a great shot Alex. I really like the yellow/blue colour contrasts between the Elm leaf and the sky.
Thanks for sharing the image and thank you also for your kind comments! It actually takes longer than one should think to put these sets together, so I’m glad that you enjoyed it.
